Prof. Prasad Devarajan

MD FAAP FASN is the Williams Endowed Chair, 

Professor of Pediatrics and Developmental Biology, and Director of Nephrology and Hypertension at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. 

He has been a consummate practitioner and leader in the clinical, research and educational aspects of Nephrology for the past 35 years. He

has authored over 350 peer-reviewed publications with a current h-index score of 100, and his research has been continuously funded by the NIH for 35 years. 

Over the past two decades, he has pioneered the discovery, translation, validation, and recent FDA

approval of NGAL as a biomarker of acute kidney injury.
