Overview Delivers patient medication orders as directed by a registered pharmacist. Sorts and transports medications throughout the hospital complex/nursing units following established protocols and techniques. Responsibilities Delivers individual medications to nursing units and collects new medication orders PRN bags according to established procedures and schedules. Maintains professional interactions with Nursing and Pharmacy Management staff. Work occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involve courtesy. Handles medications in accordance with established confidentiality policies, procedures and standards. Keeps work area neat and orderly and free of fire and safety hazards. Regularly proofreading and checking documents for accuracy and inputting and retrieving words or data into or from an automated computer system Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine. Ability to understand and respond to written or verbal instructions. Ability to respond appropriately to instructions, questions or requests for information.
