The Temporary Daily Operations Assistant – Grounds plays a key role in the day-to-day coordination of grounds staff activities across the Zoo property. This position serves as the on-site point person for assigning daily tasks, responding to internal requests for assistance, and ensuring that the grounds team is operating efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign and communicate daily tasks to full-time and seasonal grounds laborers.
• Respond promptly to requests for assistance from other departments (e.g., housekeeping, event setup, urgent cleanups).
• Monitor progress of assigned tasks and adjust priorities as needed throughout the day.
• Serve as the primary contact for on-the-ground coordination during operating hours.
• Ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Zoo standards.
• Report any issues, delays, or resource needs to management.
• Be onsite with the crews to assign basic laborer duties when needed, including cleaning, setup, and general maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Experience in groundskeeping, general labor, or facility operations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a zoo, park, or public attraction setting.
• Familiarity with basic maintenance tools and equipment.

The Temporary Daily Operations Assistant will work Thursday thru Monday; includes weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
