POSITION SUMMARY

Vista Medical Center is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead the development, implementation, and management of our healthcare technology systems. This role will ensure our IT infrastructure is secure, efficient, and compliant with industry regulations such as HIPAA. The IT Director will work closely with both clinical and administrative teams to optimize electronic health records (EHR), strengthen cybersecurity measures, and drive innovation in IT operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee hospital IT systems, including EHR, patient management platforms, and other healthcare technologies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data security regulations. Collaborate with leadership and staff to identify needs and implement solutions that improve patient care and operational efficiency. Manage IT staff and vendor relationships to ensure smooth daily operations and system maintenance. Develop and execute IT strategies that align with hospital goals. Monitor, prevent, and respond to cybersecurity threats. Plan, manage, and track the IT budget to ensure cost-effective operations. Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, integrations, and new technology implementations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Education: 5–10 years of IT leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare environment. Strong understanding of EHR systems, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare cybersecurity. Experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and large-scale technology projects. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (Master's preferred in IT Management, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration). Skills/Requirements: Strategic planning and the ability to align IT initiatives with hospital objectives. Expertise in cybersecurity and data protection in a healthcare setting. Strong project management skills for IT upgrades and implementations. Proficiency in budgeting and vendor management. Technical knowledge of EHR systems, cloud computing, and network architecture. Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and work cross-functionally.
