Systems Resource Management, Inc. (SRM) is currently seeking a Full Time TIG Welder with 3+ years of experience to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) Ranges, Engineering and Analysis Department, Prototyping and Development Division, Industrial Services Enterprise (ISE). Hours to be worked are 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a possibility of over time when available.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must understand and be able to fulfill the following job requirements, as well as demonstrate proper operation of the following equipment:

• Weld aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.

• Utilize Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW aka MIG), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW aka Flux Core), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW aka TIG) procedures and welding machines to create welds.

• Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints and work orders.

• Fixture components for welding.

• Prepare joints for welding by hand grinding and burning.

• Perform pre-heating and post-heating of weld joints.

• Utilize Plasma Arc Cutters and Oxy-Acetylene Torches to perform thermal cutting of metals.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must be capable of obtaining certifications in compliance with the following Military standards: NAVSEA S9074-AR-GIB-010/278 and MIL-STD-2035A(SH). These certifications are primarily TIG welding certs for Steel to Steel and Steel to Stainless Steel.

• High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate or graduate of U.S. Navy “A” school, apprentice school or technical school.

• 3+ years of welding experience.

• Ability to work effectively as a team member.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
